Description:
This position is for a Travel RN specializing in Labor & Delivery.
The unit has 26 beds and a total of 112 staff members.
Day shift staff includes 1 Team Leader, 14 nurses, 2-3 Surgical Technicians, and 2 unit clerks.
Night shift staff includes 1 Team Leader, 12 nurses, 2 Surgical Technicians, and 1 unit clerk.
Patient ratios are 1:1 for high-risk labor and C-sections.
Ratios for antepartum, PPROM, PTL on magnesium, and postpartum on magnesium are 1:2.
Patients without babies on magnesium are 1:3.
Outpatient care is also provided.
Equipment commonly used in the unit includes Alaris pumps, PCA pumps, Monica Novii telemetry, and CPN monitors.
The electronic medical record system utilized is Meditech / CPN.
The ideal candidate will possess strong skills in circulating C-sections and high-risk labor and delivery experience.
Typical procedures performed on the unit include C-sections, inductions, AROM, IUPC, DFM, and Doppler monitoring.
A compassionate, caring, friendly, patient, and solutions-oriented personality is essential.
Patient care experience is a priority.
The unit promotes self-scheduling, which enhances staff satisfaction.
The team works collaboratively to address staffing needs and support one another.
A strong leadership team is available and supportive to the nursing staff.
Several team members have extensive experience ranging from 20 to 40 years.
A new OB Clientist program has been implemented to provide additional support.
