Travel Nurse RN - Labor & Delivery - $1,927 per week in Humble, TX

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year License: Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, Intermediate Fetal Monitoring AWOHNN, NRP Must-Have: - Two complete years of Labor and Delivery experience - ACLS and BLS certifications - Intermediate Fetal Monitoring AWOHNN certification - NRP certification from AAP - Magnesium Sulfate Drip management and Oxytocin Management - Insulin drip management (on occasion) Description: The unit has a total of 4 OBED stretchers and 10 labor beds. 7 Antepartum Beds are available. There are 2 LDOR rooms and 2 LD PACU bays. The staff includes both day and night shifts. On day shift, there are 1 CNC, 1 Unit Secretary, 8 RNs, 2 Scrub Techs, and 1 Resource TCN. On night shift, the staff includes 1 CNC, 1 Unit Secretary, 2 Scrub Techs, and 7 RNs. Patient ratios are as follows: OBED (1:2-4 depending on acuity), APU (1:2-4 depending on acuity), LDU (1:1-2 depending on acuity). Equipment includes bedside ultrasounds, dopplers, fetal monitors, infant warmers, and labor beds. The EMR used is Meditech and GE CPN Centricity. Typical procedures performed on the unit include sterile vaginal exams, FSE/IUPC placement, and circulating Cesarean sections. Other procedures include NSTs, Oxytocin induction/augmentation, magnesium sulfate therapy for preeclampsia, and insulin drip titration. A flexible personality is best suited for this role. The unit has a commitment to following attendance policies and meeting schedule commitments. Weekend shifts are required, with 4 weekend shifts scheduled every 4 weeks. The unit has the option to cancel shifts depending on census.
