Description:
This unit has 10 labor beds and 13 postpartum beds along with 2 operating rooms.
The staff typically includes 4-5 labor RNs, 2 postpartum RNs, and an OB scrub tech, with lactation consultants available.
A Level 2 NICU is also available with 2 RNs on duty 24/7.
Both obstetric hospitalists and neonatology providers are present in-house around the clock.
Staffing on the day shift consists of 4-5 labor RNs and 2 postpartum RNs, with a scheduler/birth registrar available Monday through Friday.
Night shift staffing matches that of the day shift.
Patient ratios vary depending on the stages of labor.
Equipment includes labor tubs for midwifery patients and a fetal monitoring system.
The electronic medical record systems used are Meditech and CPN.
Candidates should demonstrate flexibility and the ability to work as part of a team.
Typical procedures include labor, vaginal deliveries, C-sections, inductions, and triage in the obstetric emergency department.
A great culture and strong teamwork are emphasized, with opportunities for growth within the unit.
One to two on-call shifts per month are preferred.
Assistance in postpartum may be required as needed.
Scrubs are provided by the facility.
