General InformationTell us about the unit(s): - Number of Beds – 16 LDR, 3 OR, 3 Triage 3 RR
- Number of Staff – 70
- Type of staff:
- Day Shift – 1 charge, 12 RN, 2-3 Surgical Techs
- Night Shift – 1 charge, 6-7 RN, 1 Surgical tech
- Patient Ratios – AWHONN ratios are the goal. Could be 1:1, 2:1 or 3:1 (low acuity)
- Type of equipment – Novii monitors, iMobile, headsets, pass-through skin-to-skin C-section drape, deep soaker tubs, light therapy, aroma therapy
- EMR – CPN and Meditech
Typical hiring profileSkill Set Most recruited for: (Travel RNs, local CNAs and sitters)
Must have : candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role.
- Current (within previous 2 years) Intermediate Fetal heart Monitoring
- L&D experience
- Current NRP and BLS required
Preferred or nice to have : candidates with these skills will be considered first.
- Experience at facilities with >3000 births per year
- Patient preferences are central
List typical procedures performed on unit(s):
- Labor, deliver, recover, triage, Antepartum, circulate for C-section
- 1 st hour baby care (excludes admission assessment, eyes and thighs)
- Breastfeeding assistance
