Travel Nurse RN - Labor & Delivery - $1,997 per week in Shawnee Mission, KS

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Post Partum/Mom Baby Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 Year License: Active RN License Certifications: BLS, NRP Must-Have: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. BSN preferred. Description: The Registered Nurse in the Mother Baby unit cares for women of childbearing age and newborns. The role requires the ability to recognize unit workflow, processes, policies, and procedures within the postpartum unit. Ability to assess and identify risk factors related to sepsis, venous thromboembolism/deep vein thrombosis (VTE/DVT), suicide, malignant hyperthermia, and pressure injury is essential. The position includes responsibilities for discharge education and assessment, management of abnormal assessments, and pain management. Time management and prioritization of patient care needs based on acuity and patient requirements are necessary skills. The Nurse will use AIDET and BSSR methodologies in their practice. Procedures performed on the unit include circumcisions. Dress code requires black scrub pants and Caribbean blue scrub top, vest, or jacket. There are no on-call requirements. Staffing includes RNs, with no unit secretary and rare use of PCTs under short staffing conditions. Unit equipment includes vital machines, glucometers, computers, TCB, and postpartum supplies. The documentation system utilized is CPN and Meditech.
