Travel Nurse RN - Labor & Delivery - $1,997 per week in Shawnee Mission, KS

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Post Partum/Mom Baby Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year License: Registered Nurse Certifications: BLS, NRP Must-Have: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. BSN preferred. Description: The Registered Nurse in the Mother Baby unit cares for women of childbearing age and newborns. The role requires the ability to recognize unit workflow, processes, policies, and procedures within the post partum unit. Candidates must be able to assess and identify risk factors related to sepsis, venous thromboembolism/deep vein thrombosis (VTE/DVT), suicide, malignant hyperthermia, and pressure injury. Providing discharge education and assessment is a critical function of this position. Candidates should have skills in managing abnormal assessments, pain management, time management, and prioritization of patient care needs based on acuity. Use of AIDET and BSSR is expected. The unit performs circumcisions as part of the procedures conducted. The dress code includes black scrub pants and Caribbean blue scrub tops, vests, or jackets. Unit specific policies and guidelines should be followed. Candidates should be aware that the unit may have outstanding department/team awards and recognition.
