**Job Description:**
- **Unit Information: L&D at Rapides Women’s and Children’s Hospital**
- **Location:** 501 Medical Center Dr, Alexandria, LA 71301
- **Floor:** 1st
- **Building:** RWCH
- **Unit Highlights:**
- **Number of Beds:** 2 triage rooms, 10 labor rooms, 2 ORs
- **Staffing:**
- PRN- 16, FT- 22, C/L- 17
- Day Shift: 1 charge nurse, 1 triage nurse, 6 RNs, 1 scrub tech, 1 secretary
- Night Shift: 1 charge nurse, 1 triage nurse, 5 RNs, 1 scrub, 1 secretary
- **Patient Ratios:** 1:1, 2:1 depending on acuity
- **Equipment:** Fetal monitors, IUPC, FSE, fluid warmer, IV pumps, epidural pumps
- **EMR:** CPN, Meditech
- **Skill Set We’re Looking For:**
- **Must Have:**
- Proficiency in starting IVs and drawing labs
- Ability to interpret fetal strips
- Proficiency in vaginal exams
- Experience as an OB circulator
- **Preferred:**
- Ability to scrub
- **Typical Procedures Performed:**
- Vaginal deliveries
- C-sections
- Amniocentesis
- Amnioinfusions
- IUPC/FSE placement
- **Personality Fit:**
- Type A – organized with exceptional time management skills
- Empathetic, caring, and compassionate
- **Required Certifications:**
- BLS
- ACLS
- NRP
- **Unit Features:**
- Closed unit
- C/L to postpartum
- Rotate every other weekend
- Possible circulator call
