Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years required License: Active RN license required Certifications: AWHONN Beginner, AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, FHM, NRP required. ACLS and AWHONN Advanced preferred. Must-Have: Previous Charge RN experience preferred. Experience with patient ratios of 5:1. Epic charting system experience preferred. Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in Labor and Delivery. The role is night shift, requiring three 12-hour shifts per week. Candidates should be flexible with scheduling and aware of a zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences. All nurses must pass a compliance EKG exam prior to starting. Responsibilities include triage and labor checks for all pregnant patients and those six weeks postpartum. The unit supports interdisciplinary collaboration and provides care for high-risk deliveries. Skills required include administration of medication, management of labor and delivery processes, and support for breastfeeding. Travelers may be floated to other facilities as needed. The environment focuses on high-quality patient care and adherence to safety protocols. Additional skills in neonatal resuscitation and care for postpartum patients are essential. Candidates must be adept in the use of EFM and have experience in monitoring fetal heart rates. Understanding and managing complications such as pre-eclampsia, gestational diabetes, and hemorrhagic conditions are crucial.
