Registered Nurse, Labor & Delivery - Regional Float Pool
Job Summary
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse to join a dynamic regional float pool, supporting multiple hospital facilities across Corvallis, Albany, and Lebanon, Oregon. The role requires a highly adaptable and skilled clinician comfortable with varied assignments within a healthcare system dedicated to providing exceptional maternal and infant care.
As a vital member of the float pool, you will provide comprehensive nursing care to expectant mothers, laboring patients, and postpartum mothers and newborns. Your responsibilities will encompass labor management, delivery assistance, continuous fetal monitoring, and specialized postpartum care, ensuring positive outcomes for both mother and baby in a fast-paced environment.
This 13-week contract position offers consistent night shifts, providing a structured yet flexible opportunity for nurses who thrive in diverse clinical settings and are committed to delivering high-quality patient care across a regional network.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert nursing care to laboring, delivering, and postpartum patients, as well as newborns.
- Manage labor progression, administer medications, and assist physicians during delivery.
- Perform continuous fetal monitoring, interpreting results and intervening as necessary.
- Conduct comprehensive postpartum assessments for mothers and newborns, identifying and addressing potential complications.
- Educate patients and families on prenatal, labor, delivery, and postpartum care, including breastfeeding and newborn care.
- Maintain accurate and thorough patient records using the electronic health record system.
- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of two (2) years of recent, acute care experience in Labor & Delivery, including labor management, delivery care, fetal monitoring, and postpartum care of mother and newborn.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Proficiency with Epic electronic health record system.
- Ability to travel between multiple facility locations (Corvallis, Albany, Lebanon, OR) using a personal automobile.
Preferred Qualifications
- Fetal Monitoring Certification.
- STABLE Certification.
