TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Labor/Delivery RN in Dickson, Tennessee, 37055!

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 12 weeks Shift: 19:00-07:00 Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Labor and delivery experience including the ability to labor and recover the mother as well as receive and transition the newborn including assessment. License: Current RN license Certifications: BLS, NRP, Fetal Monitoring training Must-Have: Experience with shoulder dystocia, postpartum hemorrhage, and other potential obstetric emergencies preferred. Description: This unit has 9 labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum beds. There is 1 observation bed and 4 NICU beds. The unit includes 1 operating room suite. Patient ratios are 1:1 for active labors, inductions, and C-sections. Couplet care is 1:3 for newborns 1:1 until stable. In the NICU, the ratio is 1:3 intermediate care, but 2 NICU nurses must be in the unit if there are patients. There are no techs or unit secretaries available. Equipment includes central monitoring, IV pumps, infant warmers, telemed robot for neonatologist, bili-blankets, and PCA pumps. The documentation system is Meditech and CPN. Full-time staff is required to work 3 shifts per week, rotating weekends and holidays. Regularly scheduled staff who are not needed on the unit are expected to float anywhere within the facility as needed. Some staff are cross-trained to float between labor and delivery and NICU. Patient experience requirements include daily rounding on all patients and safety rounding. Certifications required include BLS, NRP, and Fetal Monitoring training. Dress code requires pink and/or brown scrubs per infant security policy. This unit has 6 seasoned, highly experienced registered nurses who have approximately 30 years of experience each. They serve as great resources and preceptors. There are several other nurses who have been with the unit for 7-10 years, and they are also very experienced and competent. The unit functions as a great team and is very willing to help. Because this is a labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum unit, it is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in labor, delivery, postpartum, and neonate care.
