Job Title: RN - Labor & Delivery/Postpartum Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Labor & Delivery/Postpartum Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 12hr Day Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum of 2 years Postpartum RN experience License: Active RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, BCR, NRP, Fetal Monitoring Must-Have: Strong clinical assessment and Mother Baby skills for a Level 1 Trauma Client IV insertion and care, central line management Care coordination with interdisciplinary teams Description: Join our dynamic Labor & Delivery/Postpartum team. We are a Level 1 Trauma facility with a variety of patient types. Our unit manages vaginal and C-section deliveries, with occasional overflow hysterectomies. Expect patient ratios of 1 RN to 3-4 couples. Our team includes CNAs to assist with vital signs, glucose checks, baths, feeding, ambulation, and transport. We have a dedicated unit secretary on shift during the day and a house-wide call secretary at night. Collaborate with charge nurses who may also have patient assignments. Our facility offers 24/7 resources, including respiratory therapy and hospitalists. All nursing units utilize electronic medical records with industry-standard technology.
