Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:30) Experience: 3-5 years of high acuity and high pace environment experience preferred, minimum of 3 years required if high risk experience is present License: Active compact license Certifications: BLS, NRP; preferred ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate Must-Have: Candidates must have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in high-risk environments. Candidates must have current supervisory references. Candidates must provide proof of required certifications with their submission. Candidates must pass a clinical review. Candidates must be able to circulate and provide newborn care including eyes and vitamin K injections and newborn assessments. Candidates must have experience in high-risk delivery. Candidates must be able to function in the role of Baby Nurse during delivery and continue care of the newborn until transfer to postpartum. Candidates must be willing to float to postpartum and antepartum units as required. Description: Perm candidates from other facilities are eligible for a travel contract if they have been separated for at least 3 months. All facilities honor active compact licenses. Candidates must have high-risk experience and be able to work in fast-paced, high-acuity environments. The average daily census is 15 patients with approximately 500-600 deliveries per month. There are 31 rooms and 31 beds in the unit. The unit follows AWHONN guidelines for staffing. Pre-approved time off will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Candidates will work every other weekend and on holidays as needed. Experience with electronic fetal monitoring is required. This position functions in a high-risk, high-volume labor and delivery environment. Candidates will be expected to assist with vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, and various newborn assessments. Candidates must be able to perform skills such as amnioinfusion, anticoagulation therapy, and recognition of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns. Candidates must handle multiple births and support lactation and breastfeeding. Candidates should be knowledgeable in procedures including postpartum hemorrhage management, insulin drips, and the use of radiant warmers for thermoregulation. Candidates must adhere to isolation precautions and proper infection control protocols.
