Description:
The unit includes 8 LDRP beds, 2 OB Triage beds, 1 C-section OR, and 4 special care nursery beds.
Approximately 40 deliveries occur per month.
Staffing guidelines dictate a labor to nurse ratio of 1:1.
Postpartum couplet care is managed with a ratio of 1:3-4.
The special care nursery ratio is 1:1-2.
All staff are trained to provide care for labor, vaginal delivery, section circulating, recovery, postpartum, and newborn care.
Night shifts require working every third weekend.
Self-scheduling is permitted for day shifts with a weekend requirement of 4 shifts in a 6-week period.
No floating is required unless staff members have appropriate background and comfort.
Scrubs are provided in light pink tops and gray bottoms.
Cancellation policy does not apply.
Charting is done through the Cerner system.
