The Registered Nurse (RN) focuses on safe, effective patient and family-centered care, customer satisfaction, and quality outcomes. The RN is responsible for assisting in maintaining a financially stable unit. The RN promotes personal development with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and education supported by a Practice Governance framework. The RN supervises licensed and non-licensed staff members. The RN has the responsibility to assess, develop, implement, and evaluate the plan of care. The RN focuses on patient and family comfort, education, and satisfaction. The RN applies educational and professional experiences in the delivery of quality care and mentoring or precepting staff. Job Responsibilities: Performs assessments and reassessments per policy or as warranted by patient condition. Demonstrates the ability to make sound independent decisions. Initiates, prioritizes, and implements the plan of care. Reviews and revises the plan as indicated. Delegates tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel. Functions as a mentor or preceptor; encourages and facilitates teamwork. Identifies and communicates opportunities for improvement. Participates in quality, safety, and service process improvement efforts and implements practice changes. Complies with regulatory standards. Participates in the Practice Governance model. Promotes a safe, clean, and secure environment for all. Recognizes data from complex situations to determine priorities for care. Assesses and anticipates discharge needs of individual patients and families. Develops relationships with families that promote their ability to advocate for their needs. Collaborates with patient and family to prepare or update the plan of care. Utilizes available multidisciplinary resources in planning care. Demonstrates ability to prioritize tasks for patients with complex problems. Reads journals that contain studies or articles relevant to practice. Brings ideas and questions to the staff for assessment of applicability.
