Description:
Local position available for a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse.
The assignment duration is 13 weeks.
Shift work consists of nights, three 12-hour shifts per week.
There are no floating or call requirements.
Every other weekend is required.
Candidates must have BLS and NRP certifications.
EFM-NCC or AWHONN certification is also required.
Applicants should possess a minimum of 2 years of labor and delivery experience.
The position involves various clinical skills including administration of blood products, neonatal resuscitation, and labor assessment.
Additional responsibilities include assisting with high-risk deliveries and managing complications during labor.
The candidate will engage in patient education and family support throughout the birthing process.
This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team.
Comprehensive charting documentation using an electronic health record system is essential.
The unit typically services a daily census of 4 patients with 7 available beds.
Interdisciplinary support is provided by respiratory services, pharmacy, and social services.
