Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (18:00 - 06:30) Experience: 1 year License: Compact license accepted (must be obtained prior to start) Certifications: BLS, NRP, STABLE Must-Have: - Previous charge experience preferred - Experience with patient ratios of 3 Description: This position requires a registered nurse specialized in labor and delivery. The candidate should have experience caring for laboring patients, couplet care, and triage. The unit provides couplet care, allowing newborns to room in with parents. The nurse will be responsible for assessing and supporting breastfeeding and lactation. Experience with vaginal delivery and cesarean sections is necessary. Skills required include assessing post-operative sites, episiotomy care, and newborn assessments. The position involves working night shifts and includes weekend coverage. Travel experience is preferred, but first-time travelers are welcome to apply. The staffing ratio for this unit is three patients per nurse, both days and nights. It is important for candidates to have experience with charting systems, specifically Epic. The role may involve floating to similar units as needed based on facility requirements.
