Description:
Labor & Delivery/Postpartum RN position in a small critical care access hospital.
The facility has 10-15 births per month.
Must be proficient in labor, delivery, and postpartum care.
Candidates should have experience with both mothers and babies.
First-time travelers are accepted.
Every third weekend is required.
Mostly weekday nights are scheduled.
It is necessary to work specific dates during the assignment.
Candidate must be comfortable with various nursing skills, including antepartum and postpartum care, IV therapy, medication administration, newborn care, pain management, and phlebotomy.
Responsibilities include monitoring patients, assisting with deliveries, and providing postpartum care.
The unit provides interdisciplinary support, including physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services.
Patient age groups include neonates and adults.
Daily census is approximately 2 patients.
The unit comprises 5 rooms and 5 beds.
Various patient diagnoses are treated, including labor and postpartum cases.
Special procedures include labor and delivery care, nursery care, postpartum care, non-stress tests, and fetal monitoring.
Candidates should be prepared to provide education to parents on car seat use and infant care.
