Description:
This is a contract position for an RN in Labor and Delivery.
The shift is from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
No call is required for this role.
The unit has 12 Labor and Delivery beds, 5 Ante Partum beds, 4 OBED beds, and 3 OR rooms.
There are 72 staff members including nursing, surgical techs, and schedulers.
The Day Shift consists of 1 charge nurse, 10 RNs, 2 CSTs, and 1 scheduler.
The Night Shift consists of 1 charge nurse, 10 RNs, 1 CST, and 1 scheduler.
Patient ratios are 1:2 and 1:1 based on transition and acuity.
Equipment used includes Alaris Pumps and CADD epidural pumps.
The unit uses CPN and Meditech as the electronic medical records.
This unit is capable of performing various procedures, including C-sections, SVDs, D&C, D&E, twin deliveries with both C-section and SVD, and scheduled and non-scheduled emergent C-hysterectomy.
The unit also handles massive transfusions.
The ideal candidate will be highly engaged, motivated, and possess a positive outlook.
Additionally, the candidate should be intentional in all interactions and procedures.
Scrub color requirements include CST sky blue scrubs.
The team consists of a mix of tenured staff and newer RNs with 1-2 years of experience.
Physicians maintain excellent relationships with the nursing staff.
The management team is highly engaged and often rounds on night shift and weekend staff.
Scheduling is self-scheduled among team members.
