Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2+ years License: New York License required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate, FHMS Must-Have: Experience in LDRP Description: Seeking a Registered Nurse specializing in Labor and Delivery. Candidate must have a minimum of 2 years of experience. A valid New York License is required prior to submission. The role involves working in a Labor and Delivery unit with experience in high-risk antepartum care. Nurses will be responsible for triaging obstetrical patients. Skills in the use of intrauterine pressure catheters (IUPC) and maintaining central lines are essential. Candidates must be familiar with anticoagulation therapy, antihypertensives, insulin drips, and magnesium sulfate therapy. Assisting with high-risk deliveries and circulating for C-sections is required. Nurses should have experience in postpartum care, patient education, and newborn assessments. Proficiency in interpreting dysrhythmias and abnormal fetal heart rate patterns is critical. Experience with discharge teaching to parents and breastfeeding support is preferred. Candidates will also manage pain assessment and treatment, as well as episiotomy and incisional care. Knowledge of postpartum hemorrhage and pregnancy-induced hypertension is necessary. This position requires strong communication skills and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment. Travel nurses may need to achieve a minimum score on a telemetry assessment. Candidates should be prepared for independent patient monitoring and rhythm interpretation. The ability to respond appropriately to arrhythmias and understand telemetry strips is essential.
