Job Title: Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Labor & Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 1 year License: Louisiana RN License Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, NRP, FHM Must-Have: Laboring patients experience Circulating on C-Sections Triage on outpatients Magnesium Sulfate Therapy Postpartum Hemorrhage Care such as blood administration and Jada device Balloon Inductions, Cytotec Induction, Pitocin Inductions Couplet care Description: Manager interviews will be scheduled. Call shifts available with OB ED coverage. The facility is a Level 3 NICU with birth-ready designation. It provides care for antepartum and laboring patients. Adequate PPE is provided for COVID safety. Patient ratios are 1:2 for laboring patients and 1:1 for active labor. The charge nurse may take patient assignments. Phlebotomy services are available in-house. Support staff and resource nurse staffing are dependent. Respiratory therapy is available in-house. Clientists are available as needed. OB/GYN hospitalists are available after hours on call. There will be no midwives on staff. The unit has a total of 12 nurses. The charting system used is Meditech Expanse. IV pumps are Alaris brand, and medication dispensing is handled through Pyxis. Weekend rotations occur every other weekend. Time off requires manager approval. Nurses will be on call for 2 shifts per month from 7 PM to 7 AM. Holiday expectations apply as necessary. Scrub color is pewter. The unit culture is family-like.
