Travel Nurse RN - Labor & Delivery - $2,329 per week in Richmond, VA

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Current RN license Certifications: Current NRP and BLS required Must-Have: Intermediate Fetal Heart Monitoring experience Labor and Delivery experience within the past 2 years Description: The unit has 16 labor-delivery-recovery rooms, 3 operating rooms, 3 triage rooms, and 3 recovery rooms. There are 70 staff members on the unit. During day shifts, staffing includes 1 charge nurse, 12 RNs, and 2-3 surgical techs. Night shifts consist of 1 charge nurse, 6-7 RNs, and 1 surgical tech. AWHONN patient ratios are the goal and may vary from 1:1, 2:1, or 3:1 for low acuity. Equipment used includes Novii monitors, iMobile, headsets, pass-through skin-to-skin C-section drapes, deep soaker tubs, light therapy, and aroma therapy. Electronic medical records are managed with CPN and Meditech. The unit performs labor, delivery, recovery, triage, antepartum care, and circulates for C-sections. RNs assist with first hour baby care, excluding admission assessment, eyes, and thighs. Breastfeeding assistance is provided. Cultural diversity is encouraged in the unit. Dress code requires navy blue scrubs and closed shoes. Tattoos and piercings must be covered. There is 24-7 hospitalist and midwife coverage, along with anesthesia and neonatologist support.
