Key Responsibilities of the Travel Nurse
- Deliver safe, compassionate care throughout all phases of labor and delivery
- Monitor maternal and fetal health, interpreting vital signs and responding to complications
- Administer medications and manage pain relief methods, including epidurals
- Support patients and their families during labor, delivery, and postpartum recovery
- Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthetists, pediatricians, and support staff for optimal outcomes
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with hospital policies
- Respond swiftly and effectively to obstetric emergencies
- Provide education on postnatal care and breastfeeding support
Requirements of the Travel Nurse
- Active Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or valid Compact license
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Minimum of 2 years' recent experience in a Labor and Delivery setting
