Travel Nurse RN - Labor & Delivery - $2,372 per week in White Plains, NY

Job Title: Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 10 weeks Shift: 12-hour Nights Hours per Shift: 34.5 hours per week Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) Must-Have: BSN Required Description: Flu vaccine is required with no exceptions. This unit operates with 14 beds, including 5 triage/inpatient beds, 6 labor beds, and 2 OR beds. Candidates should hold certifications in ACLS and NRP; RN-C preferred. The charge nurse is not assigned patients three days a week and also has a unit leader. Scrub techs are utilized as nurse aides. Weekend requirements include working every third weekend for days with three weekends in a four-week period; night shift expectations include Friday and Saturday shifts. Clientist and intensivist coverage is in-house three nights per week. An IV team is available 24/7. Pharmacy services are available 24/7. Staff may be assigned to float in OB or the nursery but will not take on patients in those areas. Floor-specific orientation is provided over 2-3 shifts. Common diagnoses include C-sections, as well as high-risk obstetrical patients. Low-risk antepartum patients are directed to the OB side and not the L&D side. Patients requiring magnesium go to L&D. Candidates must have high-risk experience and be strong nurses comfortable in a fast-paced environment. Nurses are responsible for their own exams and full assessments but may not insert intrauterine pressure catheters. Customer service orientation is crucial; candidates should be able to discuss their skills and past assignments confidently.
