Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year in high-risk Labor and Delivery License: Compact license Certifications: Required: BLS, NRP Preferred: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate Must-Have: High-risk experience, ability to circulate and provide newborn care Description: We are seeking a Registered Nurse specializing in Labor and Delivery for a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. The ideal candidate will possess 1 year of acute care experience in a high-risk labor and delivery setting. Candidates with high-risk experience and the ability to work in a high-volume environment are preferred. The position requires float capability to postpartum and antepartum units as needed. The nurse will function in the role of Baby Nurse during delivery and will continue care of the newborn until transfer to postpartum. Responsibilities include circulating for C-sections and providing newborn care, including assessments and administering vitamin K injections. Candidates must have experience with electronic fetal monitoring. The unit has a high patient volume, averaging 500 to 600 deliveries per month. Staffing will adhere to established guidelines for acuity and patient ratios. The schedule is posted every 6 weeks and requires working every other weekend and holidays as needed. Pre-approved time off will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Interdisciplinary support is available from various departments. A strong commitment to teamwork and collaboration is essential. Travelers may be expected to float between nearby facilities based on the needs of the departments. Candidates should be prepared to handle a variety of patient diagnoses and support community care as appropriate. All applicants must commit to meeting the mandatory holiday work requirements.
