TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Labor/Delivery RN in Peoria, Illinois, 61637!

Job Title: Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years in Labor and Delivery License: Active Illinois license required Certifications: BLS, NRP, ACLS, Advanced AWHONN EFM class Must-Have: - Experience in a Level 1 trauma center is preferred - Proficiency in care of high-risk obstetric patients - Ability to manage Magnesium drips and Insulin drips - Capability to circulate during cesarean sections and recover patients in PACU - Proficiency in neonatal care for both vaginal and cesarean deliveries Description: Requirements for submission include the last four digits of clinician's SSN and clinician's middle initial. Clinicians are required to provide requested time off. Candidates must understand that this is a drug-free environment and will be subject to a drug screening. The facility has 9 labor delivery rooms and 2 operating room suites for cesarean sections. There are 6 triage beds and a 36 private room postpartum unit with an average daily census of 18 adults and 14 infants. Ratios are 1:1 for Pitocin induction and active labor, 2:1 at the time of vaginal delivery and cesarean section, 1:1 in PACU, and 1:3 in triage. RNs are expected to titrate drips such as Pitocin, Magnesium, and Insulin. A charge nurse is available 24/7 who does not take a team of patients. House supervisor coverage is also present 24/7. Patient care technicians and surgical techs are available on the unit. Labor hospitalists are in-house 24/7, and newborn hospitalists provide daily coverage. RNs are not required to manage vents, as patients needing ventilatory support are transferred to ICU. Electronic fetal monitoring is conducted using advanced software, with RNs needing specific certification. Shifts are 12 hours, with block scheduling accommodated when possible. Every third weekend is required, plus holiday coverage on a rotating basis. RNs may float to postpartum and antepartum units as needed. Surgical scrubs are provided for the unit.
