Description:
Locals accepted at the same rate.
Will accept 13 or 26-week contracts.
Can request up to 2 major holidays off.
This unit only requires travelers to work 1 of 3 holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas/Eve, New Year’s Eve).
Beautiful campus with great camaraderie among staff.
Staff activities include book clubs and group dinners.
Permanent candidates from any other facility are eligible for a travel contract if separated for at least 3 months.
Active compact license is required for eligibility.
Patient diagnoses include labor and preterm labor.
The unit consists of 8 labor rooms and 4 triage rooms.
Job functions include circulating, OB-GYN, post-op, pre-op, scrubbing, and caring for low-risk antepartum and low-risk labor and delivery patients.
Special procedures performed include blood/blood products administration, cardioversion/defibrillation, and the use of cooling/warming blankets.
Experience with epidural pumps, PCA pumps, and syringe pumps is required.
Familiarity with wound care and specific medications including heparin, insulin, and magnesium sulfate is necessary.
Travelers may be asked to float to postpartum or other facilities based on their skill set.
Must be prepared to attend all deliveries, including high-risk deliveries, and participate in GYN surgeries.
Staffing ratio is 1:1 to 3.
Additional required skills include administration of blood and blood products, anticoagulation therapy, antihypertensives, and assisting with high-risk deliveries.
Familiarity with pain assessment and management, as well as isolation precautions and PPE, is necessary.
Experience with sterile vaginal exams and the triage of obstetrical patients is expected.
Travelers may be expected to float between nearby facilities.
Refusal to float may result in contract termination or loss of guaranteed hours.
Communication devices needed for job tasks will be provided at no cost.
