The RN utilizes Jean Watson's Theory of Caring and Relationship Based Care. The RN assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care for all patients assigned to their care. The RN makes determinations regarding patient progress towards goals. The RN utilizes a therapeutic professional relationship with patients and families. The RN collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to promote, maintain, and restore health. Care is provided according to the specific physiological, developmental, and psychosocial needs of the patient. The RN supports the mission, vision, values, and expectations of excellence of the organization. The RN demonstrates the ability to transfer scientific knowledge from social, biological, and physical sciences. The RN evaluates the effectiveness of the care plan through observations and communication with the health team. The RN performs essential nursing skills and explains health treatments to clients and their families. The RN modifies the care plan as needed based on patient observation and reactions. The RN demonstrates current knowledge and safe use of equipment, instrumentation, and medications. The RN delegates tasks based on the legal scopes of practice of care team members. The RN acts as the client’s advocate, initiating actions to improve healthcare interests. The RN provides culturally competent, age-appropriate, ethical care within legal standards of practice. The RN coordinates patient care activities with all members of the healthcare team. The RN documents nursing care per hospital policies and utilizes information systems for efficiency. The RN is accountable for meeting unit and organizational goals for patient satisfaction. The RN contributes to a positive patient care experience through individual interactions. The RN assists in the resolution of complaints with an aim for immediate resolution. The RN investigates complaints and provides necessary information to the Clinical Manager.
