Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Women's Services Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years of recent RN Level 1 Nursery, Postpartum, OB/GYN, and Labor and Delivery experience License: Must have RN license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, STABLE, AWHONN Must-Have: - 2 years of recent experience in caring for OB/GYN patients, including post-op hysterectomy, antepartum care, triage care, labor and delivery care, and postpartum care. - Current certifications from the American Heart Association. - Must be willing to float to another unit if necessary. Description: Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments. Appropriately assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care. Monitors, records, and communicates patient conditions as appropriate to the care team, physician, patient, and family. Assists patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation. Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and spiritual or psychosocial support needs. Evaluates the learning needs of patients and families, providing education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances. Acts as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient. Circulates during cesarean sections and attends deliveries, assisting the physician as needed. Follows policies regarding the recovery and care of surgical patients. Attends the newborn station in the cesarean section suite and assesses the neonate post-delivery. Participates in fetal monitoring certification classes every two years. Attends STABLE certification classes when offered and holds current NRP certification. Identifies necessary information to communicate to physicians and patients.
