TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Labor/Delivery RN in Seattle, Washington, 98122!

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 26 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:30) Experience: Minimum of 1 year experience required License: Active compact license required Certifications: Required: BLS, NRP Preferred: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate Must-Have: High-risk experience required Description: Locals receive the same rate. Perm candidates from other facilities are eligible for a travel contract if they have been separated for at least 3 months. 1 year of experience is required. Must have experience in high-risk situations. First-time travelers are accepted. Pre-approved time off will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Working every other weekend and holidays as needed is required. Floating to postpartum and antepartum units is required. Candidates must be prepared to float to facilities that provide mother/baby care. Patient diagnoses include midwifery clients, private OBs, adult recovery services supporting substance recovery, and community care clinics. Experience with electronic fetal monitoring is essential, with a hard stop requirement for using specific charting systems. The unit follows AWHONN guidelines for staffing. Functions in the role of Baby Nurse during delivery and continues care of the newborn until transferred to postpartum. Responsibilities include NB care, administering vitamin K shots, and assessing newborns. Average daily census is approximately 15 patients, with around 500-600 deliveries per month. The unit has 31 rooms and 31 beds. Scheduling is posted every 6 weeks based on unit needs. Interdisciplinary support is available from respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretaries. Special procedures include operating in a high-risk and high-volume labor and delivery environment. Candidates must circulate and provide newborn care, including assessments and management of interventions. Travelers may be expected to float between nearby facilities. Refusal to float may result in termination of the assignment. Communication devices required for duties will be provided at no cost. Modules are required to be completed pre-start and annually. Time spent on modules will be self-reported and recorded in compliance transcripts.
