Description:
Position available for Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse.
Start date is as soon as possible.
Ratios are 1:1 for patient care.
First-time applicants are accepted.
Weekend coverage is required.
Certifications required include BLS and NRP.
No call requirement for this position.
Floating within the hospital is required, but floating to sister hospitals is not permitted.
Block scheduling is not accommodated.
Local candidates are accepted, but pending licenses are not accepted.
There is a maximum restriction of one week for requested time off.
Special notes:
The focus will be on childbearing individuals and newborns.
Involves antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn care.
This is a high-risk Level 3 Perinatal center where 70% of patients are complex high risk.
Provides outpatient services when the clinic is closed.
There are two operating rooms on the unit for C-sections and other procedures.
A second labor and delivery RN is available for non-compromised deliveries.
Approximately 150 births occur each month.
Unit details:
Staffing and scheduling type is other.
Patient ratios during days, nights, and weekends are typically 1:1.
Float requirements include Mother-Baby and Antepartum units.
There are no weekend coverage requirements.
The daily census on the unit is approximately eight patients.
The unit has 12 rooms and nine beds.
Additional information:
Interdisciplinary support available from physical therapy, social services, and pharmacy among others.
Patient diagnoses include high-risk antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn care.
Special procedures and unit details include two operating rooms for C-sections and other necessary care.
Requires the ability to circulate during C-sections.
All documentation responsibility is required during surgeries.
High acuity patients with multiple comorbidities will be encountered.
