Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 or 26 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years License: Compact license required Certifications: BLS, FHM, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate, ACLS (preferred) Must-Have: Epic experience required Description: Locals are accepted at the same rate. This unit requires travelers to work one of three holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas/Eve, or New Year’s Eve. Beautiful campus with great camaraderie. Staff book clubs and group dinners are encouraged. All facilities honor active compact licenses. Two years of experience is required; first-time travelers are accepted. Patient diagnoses include labor and preterm labor. There are eight labor rooms and four triage rooms. Travelers will float to postpartum and possibly labor and delivery based on skill set. The staffing ratio is 1:1 to 3. Must be comfortable attending high-risk deliveries and GYN surgeries. Special procedures include blood and blood products administration, cardioversion, and the use of warming blankets. Experience in low-risk antepartum and postpartum care is necessary. Travelers’ refusal to float may result in termination of the assignment. Modules should be completed pre-start and annually. Module completion is self-reported. All references must cover one year of experience within the last three years. Communication devices needed for the assignment will be supplied by the client. No direct contact with facility personnel is allowed unless prior arrangements have been made.
