Description:
This position is for a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse.
The role includes working night shifts on a schedule of 4x12 hours.
The nurse will be responsible for providing care to high-risk and low-risk obstetric patients.
Expected tasks include managing labor and delivery processes, assisting with cesarean sections, and postpartum care.
The nurse will be involved in fetal monitoring and neonatal resuscitation.
Cross-training to the Mother/Baby unit is expected.
Float requirements to NICU for stable feeder and grower infants may occur.
The nurse will adhere to safety protocols and perform risk assessments for abnormal fetal heart rate patterns.
Weekend coverage is required, and the nurse must work during winter holidays.
Orientation and training will be provided on-site.
The facility conducts an average of 2000 deliveries annually.
Appropriate documentation and communication with interdisciplinary support teams are necessary.
The nurse should be prepared to follow established protocols and procedures within the unit.
The overall patient ratio is 1-2 during night shifts.
Regular assessment and recognition of changes in patient conditions are vital.
Teamwork and collaboration with various medical and support staff are essential aspects of this role.
Candidates must have a proven track record of managing acute patient situations effectively.
Experience in high-risk scenarios and familiarity with specific maternal conditions is preferred.
Continuous knowledge of best practices in maternal care is expected.
