Must-Have:
Experience with fetal scalp electrodes, cervical exams, management of insulin and magnesium drips, neonatal resuscitation, and lactation support.
Ability to assist with placement and monitoring of IUPC.
Experience in circulating c-sections and receiving babies in the OR.
Description:
Position requires a Registered Nurse in the Labor and Delivery Unit.
The unit averages 1800 deliveries per year.
Daily responsibilities include managing laboring patients with a ratio of 1:1 during active labor.
Cervical ripening duties have a ratio of 1:1 to 3.
Postpartum and antepartum patients may have a ratio of 3:1.
Nurses will document feeds, vitals, and assessments for newborns when mothers remain on the unit for continuous surveillance.
Required to have experience with high-risk situations such as PIH, GDM, Pre-Eclampsia, Eclampsia, HELLP, and postpartum hemorrhage.
The unit includes 7 labor rooms, 2 triage rooms, and a combination of postpartum, antepartum, and GYN patients.
Support staff includes a unit secretary and bed flow facilitator during the day shift, as well as 24/7 coverage from charge nurses, anesthesia, and respiratory therapists.
There will be opportunities to float to other areas, including Mother-Baby when needed.
Candidates must be willing to rotate weekends and participate in holiday shifts.
Preferred scrub color is navy, provided on-site.
