Travel Nurse RN - Labor & Delivery - $2,730 per week in Ellsworth, ME

Job Title: Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: OB Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 7P-7A Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years required License: Valid nursing license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring, STABLE (must complete within 30 days of start) Must-Have: Experience with all phases of Labor and Postpartum care, as well as care of well babies Description: Immediate start date available. Level III Nursery with approximately 200 births per year. LDRP meaning the patient will stay on the unit for Antepartum, Intrapartum, and Postpartum/Couplet care. Traveler must be comfortable with all phases of care. Experience with post-partum hemorrhage, pre-eclampsia, HELLP, bilirubin babies, NAS babies, feeders, and growers is required. Low-risk patients are served; all high-risk patients are transferred out for labor and delivery. The unit may receive Med/Surg surgical patient overflows. No infectious patients or telemetry monitoring; traveler must confirm comfort with this. Average patient ratios follow AWHONN guidelines: 1:2 laboring, 1:1 active labor, 1:3-4 couplets, 1:2-3 Med Surg. Dependable care for well babies is expected, without a dedicated nursery nurse. The unit is staffed with at least 2 nurses overnight and may have 3 nurses during peak times. No CNA available, but HUC is present 4 days per week. Midwife will perform most of the care, with OB available as needed. Charge nurse, phlebotomy, and respiratory therapy services are available 24/7. Charting system used is an electronic medical record. Floating may occur to Med/Surg or Emergency Department for tasks only, without patient assignments. Weekend rotation involves working every other weekend. No on-call requirements for this position. Holiday expectations include working every other holiday. Time-off approvals must be sought from management. Professional scrub color must be adhered to, with procedural scrubs provided only for OR use.
