Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (18:00 - 06:30) Experience: Minimum 1 year License: California state license required Certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, NRP Must-Have: Previous charge experience Patient ratio experience 1:3 Charting experience with Epic Description: Postpartum care preferred. Weekend requirements are necessary to meet staffing needs. This unit cares for high-risk obstetrics and a culturally diverse population. Registered Nurses will circulate on cesarean sections. Traveling nurses will float within their scope as needed. Job encompasses administration of blood and blood products, amnioinfusion, and antepartum care. Experience in anticoagulation therapy and antihypertensives is required. Candidates should have knowledge in handling APGAR scores and assisting with amniocentesis. Ability to assist with both high-risk deliveries and sterile speculum exams is necessary. Skills in conducting vaginal deliveries and offering breastfeeding support are essential. Applicants must provide newborn care, including identifying conditions like neonatal abstinence syndrome. Familiarity with labor and delivery protocols and managing IV therapy is critical. Competence in postpartum hemorrhage intervention and patient education during discharge is required. Registered Nurses must adhere to safety precautions and isolation protocols when necessary. Experience in monitoring and interpreting fetal heart rates and conducting non-stress tests is preferred. Candidates should be prepared to work with interdisciplinary teams for patient care support. Flexibility to float between facilities is expected. Candidates must be willing to work two out of three major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year.
