Travel Nurse RN - Labor & Delivery - $2,776 per week in Dickinson, ND

Job Title: LDRP RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour nights Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP Must-Have: Ability to follow AWHONN guidelines for ratios. Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in Labor and Delivery. The unit features 4 L&D beds and 7 postpartum beds. Nurses are expected to follow a labor ratio of 1:1-2 and postpartum ratio of 1:2-3. Patients typically include those over 35 weeks in labor as well as mother/baby couplets. RNs are responsible for titrating drips including magnesium and oxytocin during labor and various medications postpartum. There is a charge nurse on each shift who will also have assignments. Nurses are responsible for troubleshooting neonatal respiratory equipment such as CPAP and BiPAP. The shift schedule follows a block scheduling model with every third weekend required. Holidays may be required based on availability. There may be a need to float to other departments for assisting as needed. Scrubs will be provided for employees. It is important for nurses to possess teamwork skills, provider consistency, knowledge, independence, and good communication. This is a rural facility with a distance of over an hour to the nearest NICU, and limited services are available.
