Travel Nurse RN - Labor & Delivery - $2,776 per week in Little Falls, MN

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-Hour Nights Hours per Shift: 7 PM - 7:30 AM Experience: Minimum 1 year License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP Must-Have: Must have experience in Labor and Delivery, Medsurg, and Pediatrics. Critical access experience preferred. Must be able to titrate drips. Description: Unit operates with a total of 10 beds, which include Labor and Delivery and Postpartum beds. There is a separate triage bed available. C-sections are performed in the operating room. Follows guidelines for nurse-patient ratios: 1:1 during induction and 1:2 postpartum. Common patient diagnoses include Labor and Delivery, Postpartum, Hyperbilirubinemia, and Preterm labor. Charge Nurse available on each shift; typically does not take an assignment unless necessary. Anesthesia and OB/Neonatology are on call and not in-house 24/7. Respiratory therapy equipment available for use and can be troubleshot by RNs. RNs are responsible for reading their own telemetry strips, with assistance available from charge nurses as needed. There is 1 Nurse Aid on duty during the day shift. The unit utilizes GE for electronic fetal monitoring. Scheduling is managed by the unit scheduler; every third weekend and holiday are required. Nurses may float to Med Surg or Pediatrics in low OB patient volumes. 1 hour response time required for call or standby. There is no strict dress code; nurses can wear any color scrubs. Attributes that contribute to success on this unit include strong communication skills, motivation, and approachability. The unit operates under a cancellation policy, allowing for a limited number of shifts to be canceled during the assignment. Experience in electronic medical record systems is beneficial.
