Travel Nurse RN - Labor & Delivery - $2,787 per week in Durham, NC

Job Title: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent Labor and Delivery experience License: NC or Compact license in hand Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP Must-Have: - Open availability - Every other weekend required - No first-time travelers - Local candidates accepted within a specified radius Description: This position requires a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse. The role involves caring for both high-risk and low-risk patients. You will assist with both vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections. The nurse will float between high-risk and labor and delivery units. Charting experience with Epic is required. The nurse will be responsible for administering medications and managing IVs. Experience in high-risk antepartum care is essential. You will participate in patient education and discharge teaching. Compliance with attendance policies is monitored throughout the assignment. Modules will need to be completed during orientation and annually thereafter. Patient ratios on nights are 2 patients per nurse. Daily census involves a specific number of patients across different age groups. Care includes management of various labor and delivery procedures and complications. Nurses will need to demonstrate competency in the care of newborns and mothers. The unit provides interdisciplinary support from various healthcare professionals. Equipment for documentation and fetal monitoring is utilized in this role. The nurse will have responsibilities for high acuity cases and rapid response situations.
