Travel Nurse RN - Labor & Delivery - $2,961 per week in Oxnard, CA

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 3 years License: Required Certifications: ACLS BLS NRP Advanced Fetal Monitoring Must-Have: 2-3 years of experience At least one prior travel contract is preferred Description: Unit has 7 Labor and Delivery beds, 4 triage beds, and 27 postpartum beds with a 5-bed nursery. Approximately 3 births occur per day, totaling 1545 births per year. Certifications required include ACLS, BLS, NRP, and intermediate or advanced fetal monitoring. The unit follows AWOHNN guidelines for nurse-patient ratios. The fetal heart monitor system interacts with the electronic medical record system. Charge nurse will be available on each shift, with a resource nurse for breaks. OB techs will assist in deliveries, stock supplies, and help with patient intake. Weekend requirement includes 4 weekend shifts within a 4-week schedule. On-call participation is preferred but optional. Holiday work will be scheduled with perm staff, typically one major and one minor holiday. Scrub color is navy. Telemonitoring is provided by Phillips. No vents are present on the unit. OB and neonatology specialists are available 24/7 for emergencies with a 30-minute response time. Respiratory therapy and pharmacy services are available 24/7. Shifts are 12 hours from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM. C-section experience is required in a circulating role. Floating between labor and delivery and postpartum is expected, with labor and delivery nurses needing postpartum experience. Common patient diagnoses include high-risk deliveries, substance abuse withdrawal, and patients with no prenatal care. Candidates must possess the required certifications and experience levels.
