This position involves caring for high-risk obstetric patients. The nurse will circulate on cesarean sections. The preferred candidate has postpartum experience. Travel nurses may be required to float within their scope. Night shifts will include 3 shifts per week. The average daily census ranges from 15 to 20 patients. The facility has a culturally diverse population. Candidates should have experience with administration of blood products and epidural anesthesia. Nursing duties will include discharge teaching to parents and newborn assessments. Ideal candidates will provide support for breastfeeding and lactation. Knowledge and skills in various procedures such as amnioinfusion, circumcision care, and triage of obstetrical patients are essential. The ability to manage pain and recognize abnormal fetal heart rate patterns is required. Applicants must be committed to working some holidays as needed for staffing.
