Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Days Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 3 years License: Active nursing license required Certifications: ACLS BLS NRP Advanced Fetal Monitoring Must-Have: Experience in Labor and Delivery and Postpartum care Description: Unit consists of 7 Labor and Delivery beds, 4 triage beds, and 2 overflow beds. Additionally, there are 27 postpartum beds with a 5-bed nursery. Average of 3 births per day, totaling approximately 1545 births per year. Certifications required include ACLS, BLS, NRP, and Advanced Fetal Monitoring. The facility follows AWOHNN guidelines for nurse-patient ratios. Fetal monitoring is done using the FetalLink system, which interacts with Cerner. The electronic medical record system used is Cerner. Charge nurses are present, along with resource nurses for breaks. OB techs assist with deliveries, C-sections, stocking supplies, and patient intake. Weekend requirements include 4 shifts in a 4-week schedule. Call is optional, but travelers are preferred to be open to taking call. Holidays will be shared with permanent staff, typically including one major and one minor holiday. Scrub color is navy blue. Telehealth services are provided using Philips technology. There are no ventilators on-site. OB/Neonatologist is available and on call 24/7 with a 30-minute response time. Respiratory therapy is available 24/7. Pharmacy services are available 24/7. C-section experience is required; nurses must circulate in C-sections but are not required to scrub. Floating between Labor and Delivery and Postpartum is expected. Labor and Delivery nurses must have postpartum experience. Postpartum nurses may assist in Labor and Delivery or NICU as needed. Common patient diagnoses include high-risk deliveries, substance abuse withdrawal, and lack of prenatal care. Candidates must have 2-3 years of experience, with at least one prior travel contract preferred. Cancellation policy allows for cancellation of up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment. Charting is done via Cerner. BSN is not required. No trauma level specified. Care setting is acute. Nursing Division. Shifts are 7 AM to 7 PM. Weekend shifts are expected. Required certifications are ACLS, Advanced Fetal Monitoring, BLS, NRP, and COVID vaccination.
