Travel Nurse RN - Labor & Delivery - $2,996 per week in Walnut Creek, CA

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor & Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12 Hour Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 3 years clinical experience required. Minimum of 3 years clinical experience in specialty required. License: Current state nursing license required. Certifications: ACLS NRP Fetal assessment Must-Have: Candidates must be competent and comfortable looking after high-risk pregnancies. Candidates must be able to perform vag exams. Candidates must have good fetal heart monitoring skills. Description: The unit has a total of 10 labor rooms and 10 antepartum rooms. There are 240 deliveries per month. The nurse-patient ratio is 1:1 to 1:4 based on patient acuity. Ancillary assistance includes a unit clerk/secretary and an OR scrub tech per shift. Advanced practice staff includes nurse midwives available 24/7. Anesthesia and pediatric support are present, along with neonatologists available seven days a week. Travelers may float to 1-2 units during a 12-hour shift. Travelers are required to work 4 out of 8 weekend shifts per schedule. Must be available for two out of three major winter holidays and two out of three summer holidays. Patient population includes high-risk diabetics, pre-eclampsia, and advanced maternal age cases. Experience with magnesium sulfate infusions is necessary. The unit uses HP central monitoring for fetal monitoring. Client adult monitors are available as needed in recovery. The unit has specific procedures and protocols for various medical interventions. RNs circulate in the operating room but do not scrub. Epic experience is preferred. Travel experience is a plus.
