All facilities honor active compact license. 2 years of experience is required. Epic experience is mandatory. Certifications required include BLS, FHM, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate, and ACLS (preferred). Patients will present with labor and preterm labor diagnoses. There are 8 labor rooms and 4 triage rooms. Responsibilities include circulating for OB-GYN, post-op, pre-op, scrub, low-risk antepartum, and low-risk labor and delivery. Special procedures include blood and blood products administration, cardioversion/defibrillation, and use of cooling/warming blankets. Must manage drains, epidural pumps, PCA pumps, syringe pumps, wound vacs, heparin, insulin, and magnesium sulfate. The nurse will attend all deliveries, including high-risk deliveries, and assist with GYN surgeries, couplet care, low-risk antepartum, and transition nursery. Staffing ratio is 1:1 to 3. Floating to post-partum and NICU may be required based on skill set. Key skills include administration of blood and blood products, anticoagulation therapy, antihypertensives, assisting with high-risk delivery, circulating for C-sections, and pain management. The facility typically sees 200-300 births per month. Nurse will perform triage of obstetrical patients and maintain central lines. The position requires isolation precautions and patient education. This is a teaching hospital environment.
