  • Position: Registered Nurse – Labor & Delivery (L&D)
  • Location: Grass Valley
  • Contract Length: 13 Weeks
  • Shift: Night Shift
  • Schedule: 3x12
  • Experience Required: 2 Years
  • Weekly Pay: $3130 to $3330
Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to antepartum, laboring, delivery, postpartum, and immediate newborn patients
  • Perform maternal and fetal assessments, including continuous fetal heart rate and contraction monitoring
  • Administer medications, IV therapies, oxytocin, epidural support, and other prescribed treatments
  • Assist physicians and certified nurse midwives during vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, and obstetric emergencies
  • Monitor mothers and newborns for changes in condition and respond promptly to complications
  • Educate patients and families regarding labor, delivery, breastfeeding, newborn care, recovery, and discharge planning
  • Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, pediatric providers, lactation consultants, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Ensure compliance with infection prevention, patient safety, and maternal-child care standards
  • Deliver compassionate, family-centered care while providing emotional support throughout the childbirth experience
Requirements
  • Active California Registered Nurse (RN) License
  • Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience
  • Current BLS Certification required
  • Current ACLS Certification required
  • Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) Certification required
  • AWHONN Fetal Monitoring Certification preferred
  • Experience caring for high-risk obstetric patients and obstetric emergencies preferred
  • Strong fetal monitoring, maternal assessment, and emergency response skills
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and patient education abilities
  • Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems preferred
  • Commitment to delivering exceptional maternal and newborn care
