Key Responsibilities of the Travel Nurse:
- Provide safe, compassionate care throughout all phases of labor and delivery
- Monitor maternal and fetal health, interpreting vital signs and responding to complications
- Administer medications and manage pain relief, including epidurals
- Support patients and their families during labor, delivery, and postnatal recovery
- Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthetists, pediatricians, and support staff
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Respond swiftly to obstetric emergencies
- Offer education on postnatal care, breastfeeding, and discharge instructions
Requirements of the Travel Nurse:
- Active North Carolina or Compact RN license
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Minimum of 2 years' recent experience in a Labor and Delivery setting
