Travel Nurse RN - Labor & Delivery - $3,206 per week in Sacramento, CA

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 14 weeks Shift: 12-Hour Days Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Yes Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN-Advanced (STABLE preferred) Must-Have: Ability to float to Mother/Baby and circulate C-sections. Description: The role requires working in a high-risk unit with couplet care. Nurses must be willing to perform all tasks from start to finish. Circulating C-sections is a vital part of the responsibilities. The unit features 10 Labor and Delivery beds and 2 OR suites for C-sections. There are 3 triage beds and 12 postpartum beds. Monthly births range from 140 to 165. Ratios include 1:3-4 couplets, with labor delivery ratios from 1:1 to 1:2. Nurses are expected to titrate drips, mainly focusing on Pitocin. Charge nurses generally do not take patients but provide break relief. OB surgical techs are present on the unit. An OB hospitalist and anesthesia staff are available 24/7, while a neonatologist is on call. Nurses must be able to read and interpret EKG strips on postpartum patients. The electronic fetal monitoring system used is GE Corometric monitors. Shifts start at 6:45 AM, with bedside reporting. Candidates should be flexible with scheduling, including working during major holidays. Cancellation of shifts may occur under specific guidelines during assignments. Charting is done using a Cerner system.
