Start Date: October 19, 2026 Location: Charlotte, North Carolina Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants Schedule: 12-hour night shifts (18:45 - 07:15), every other weekend required (minimum 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule)
Highlights:
High-volume, fast-paced Birthing Care Unit averaging 400-600 births per month with approximately 20 births in 24 hours
2:1 patient ratios with double labor assignments as a daily occurrence
Contract lengths from 13+ weeks through February 27, 2027
Epic charting system with 24 hours of orientation provided
Obstetrical triage unit for screening, antenatal fetal surveillance, and outpatient procedures
Float requirement to Special Maternity Care high-risk OB unit as needed; no on-call requirement
Requirements:
Active North Carolina or Compact RN license
Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required; 3 years preferred
Prior experience in high-volume facilities with more than 300 births per month is essential
Must be skilled in circulating for Cesarean sections, sterile vaginal exams, and immediate newborn care
Certifications required: BLS, AWHONN Intermediate (or C-EFM accepted), and NRP
Epic charting experience required
Must be comfortable with high-acuity, fast-paced environments and double labor assignments
Patient Population & Procedures:
Care for obstetrical patients 16 weeks and greater for all intrapartum services
High-risk antepartum and postpartum care, including patients under 16 weeks on the high-risk maternity unit
Scheduled and unscheduled Cesarean births and rescue cervical cerclage procedures
Triage of obstetrical patients with approximately 40 visits per day across 20 rooms
