Description:
Locals are accepted at the same rate.
Permanent candidates from other facilities are eligible for a travel contract if they have been separated for at least three months.
All facilities honor active compact licenses.
Two years of experience is required.
Epic experience is a requirement.
Certifications required include BLS, FHM, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate, and ACLS (preferred).
Patient diagnoses include labor and preterm labor.
The unit has eight labor rooms and four triage rooms.
Responsibilities include circulating, OB-GYN, post-op, pre-op, scrubbing, low-risk antepartum, and low-risk labor and delivery.
Special procedures include blood and blood products administration, cardioversion, defibrillation, use of cooling and warming blankets, handling drains, and operating various pumps.
The nurse attends all deliveries, including high-risk deliveries, GYN surgeries, couplet care, low-risk antepartum, and transition nursery services.
The staffing ratio is 1:1-3.
Floating to postpartum and NICU may be required based on skill set.
Required skills include administration of blood and blood products, anticoagulation therapy, antihypertensives, assisting with high-risk deliveries, and circulating for C-sections.
The facility births 200-300 patients per month and handles high-risk antepartum cases.
Other skills include managing insulin drips, isolation precautions, labor and delivery procedures, magnesium sulfate therapy, maintaining central lines, pain assessment and management, and performing sterile vaginal exams.
Additional responsibilities involve triaging obstetrical patients and using an intrauterine pressure catheter for placement and calibration.
Mandatory floating between nearby facilities may occur based on contract terms.
If required, the facility will provide communication devices needed for assigned duties at no cost.
Refusal to float may result in termination of the assignment.
Candidates must commit to working three out of five designated holidays.
References are required covering experience within the last three years.
