Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Pediatric, Nursery, Labor and Delivery Nurse Duration: 8 weeks Shift: Rotating Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 5 years License: Current, valid RN license from the state Certifications: - Basic Life Support (BLS) - Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Must-Have: - Must maintain current certifications throughout employment - Must complete additional training as specified for Labor and Delivery Description: The Registered Nurse provides and coordinates patient care through assessment, evaluation, and treatment. The primary goal is to achieve wellness and recovery. Responsibilities include assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for patients within the scope of practice. Education is provided to patients according to their needs. Transcription and implementation of protocols and physician orders are essential. Coordination of the healthcare team and delegation of appropriate tasks to ancillary personnel are required. Other duties may be assigned. Education: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing is required. Experience: Previous experience in a hospital setting is preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Excellent customer service skills, including a friendly personality, patience, empathy, and professionalism. Effective communication with staff and the public, both verbally and in writing. Demonstrated effective listening skills. Strong organization and time management skills with the ability to set priorities. Exceptional problem-solving skills are necessary. Ability to work effectively without immediate supervision. Willingness to learn new computer software programs. Ability to recognize and protect confidential information. Demonstrated ethical and legal accountability is required for the position. Experience in a special care nursery or NICU is desirable. Position urgency is rapid response crisis.
