Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 26 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in high acuity and high-paced environments. License: Compact license required. Certifications: - BLS - NRP Must-Have: - Current supervisory references. - Proof of required certifications with submission. - Ability to pass clinical review. - High-risk obstetrical experience. - Experience circulating and providing newborn care including assessments and injections. Description: We are seeking a Registered Nurse specializing in Labor and Delivery. Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in high acuity and high-paced environments. Five years of high-risk experience is highly preferred, but candidates with at least 3 years will be considered if they have relevant experience. Candidates must have current supervisory references. Proof of required certifications is mandatory upon application. All candidates must be able to pass a clinical review with no exceptions. The position requires the ability to float to postpartum and antepartum units as needed. Candidates will work with midwifery clients and must support adult recovery services. Experience with electronic fetal monitoring is valued. Nurses are expected to function in the role of Baby Nurse during deliveries, providing care to newborns until they are transferred to postpartum. Essential skills include conducting newborn assessments and administering necessary medications. The average daily census is around 15 patients, with a typical volume of 500-600 deliveries monthly. Candidates should be prepared to float to sister facilities if required. A commitment to working every other weekend and on holidays as needed is expected. Preferred certifications include ACLS and AWHONN Advanced. Essential skills also include neonatal resuscitation, managing IVs, and understanding the recognition of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns. Please note, candidates must be flexible and adaptable to the needs of the department.
